In a proactive move to ensure preparedness, NEMA Tobago in association with the Division of Natural Resources and the Environment, Fisheries Department, Tobago Youth Council, Youth Build, Buccoo Reef Trust, Environment Tobago, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and BHP Billiton Trinidad and Tobago recently staged an oil spill response drill at Petit Trou Beach, Lambeau, Tobago.

On September 16, 2006 BHP Billiton Trinidad and Tobago celebrated a major milestone as its Central Processing Platform (CPP) achieved two years with no lost time injuries. The Greater Angostura Development located in Block 2(c) is operated by BHP Billiton Trinidad and Tobago, on behalf of its joint venture partners Total and Talisman Energy.

BHP Billiton Trinidad and Tobago recently achieved an important safety accomplishment in the operation of its shorebase at Chaguaramas. The team at the shorebase marked three years without a Lost Time Incident (LTI). This milestone was achieved as a result of continued support, commitment and teamwork with the shorebase facilitator, Mariners Haven Limited, and all our vendors, sub-contractors, staff and crews.
